Day One Recap

This morning I called up Sarge and told her I just could not do this detox BS. I felt like shit yesterday. No caffeine, no sugar, nothing. My body revolted and gave me the WORST headache I have ever had. It was so bad that I vomited at work....not once, but twice (Sorry TMI). The first part of the day was fine, but in the evening I felt foggy and nauseous. The thought of continuing is just too much.

Well, I am not giving up. I am going to continue doing this for the full seven days. If my body had that bad of a reaction giving up caffeine and sugar for one day, it is probably a good thing that I get my diet cleaned up. I am not eating or doing anything that is too far out of the norm. That is everything except the olive oil with lemon in the morning. I can handle veggies, brown rice, and beans for seven days. I just hope it gets easier and that this plan delivers a fraction of what it promises.

I have a date with you know who today...Miss Jillian. I swear I saw the start of a muscle. It is becoming an obsession. But that is ok, because it gives me an excuse not to run outside for the time being. I am calling it pre-running condition. Ha!

Today it is snowing and the roads are slick. We are expecting a really nasty cold snap this week. Boo!!! Thank you Alaska for shipping your craptastic weather to us. Why can't Florida send some heat our way? *sigh* How many days until spring?

Officially 67 days until spring!!

We northerners have to hold tight, it won't be long! I know all about that 'foggy' feeling...I have that today after a rough 7 days at work!
Go easy, listen to your body and take Jillian on face to face and kick her ass down!
Big cold blast coming this week, probably already by you....this sucks!

I've never tried to give up sugar, but I gave up caffeine for about a year (sadly went back on it) and the first several days were terrible. It's withdrawl symptoms from having a caffeine addiction. Don't give in, and you will feel better in a few days.

The last time I gave up caffeine, I was preggers...and was so nauseous from that I didn't notice the caffeine withdrawal headache...but I know when I don't get coffee ALMOST IMMEDIATELY, the slight warning-headache is enough to make me almost-puke...is that bad?

Hang in there. You inspire me :-)

Obsessing about exercise is always a good thing!

Because we Floridians don't like to share.

Hope the rest of the detox goes better. You are stronger than I; I would have caved.

I was interested in the detox idea until you said no caffeine. I need my job too much. I really don't think I could function with no caffeine.

Good luck with Jillian.

Maybe it's just a case of getting over the hump. Hopefully the worst is behind you. I'm so glad that I don't drink that much caffeine (probably a couple times a month), because the withdrawal is horrible. If the Hubs goes even one day without caffeine he gets the crazy headaches and nausea, and he only drinks a can of soda a day. It's a crazy drug!!

Good luck with finishing out the week.

Ugh - I could never do the oil/lemon thing! :-) Hopefully your body revolt was the worst of it, lol.

I hate cold weather too...it will also most likely bring a 'snow day' (ie wind chill warnings) for the kiddos too.

Vomiting twice? Eek, NOT fun. Hope you're feeling better.

If I had reacted to the detox like that, I am certain I would give up. But, I really want to know how this works for you and if you lose any weight.

I am so sick of the Winter. I get winter blues big time, and I think that is why I am an exercise freak in the winter. well I kind of always am..... Have a great day!

sorry to hear about the reaction! Hopefully you start feeling a bit better over the next few days! I am looking forward to better weather too :)

HOLY MOLY...that sounds awful. I don't know how you can eat lemon and olive oil for breakfast, that would totally make me barf too.

It's craptastic here too if it makes you feel any better. I cannot wait for the high temp of 14 on Friday. Makes for crappy ski conditions.

Good luck with tomorrows detoxing.

Just giving up caffeine would make me throw up from a hideous headache. I can't imagine giving up everything else too. Hang in there!
