Go Blog Yourself! TiaRT

Today's topic for the Runner's Lounge Take it and Run Thursday, is about running blogs. The million dollar question is Why? Why do I blog?

I was inspired and entertained by reading and lurking at a few blogs. I enjoyed reading blogs so much that I started my own. In November 2007, Chubby Chicks Run Too was born. When I started, I was just returning to work after maternity leave and I really wanted to become a runner again. I chose to blog because I wanted to track my journey of weight loss and to be accountable for how many miles my Saucony's could take me.

Although this is technically a blog about fitness (and I use fitness loosely), many of my posts have nothing to do with running or weight loss. This place has morphed into more of a documentary of my crazy life of trying to balance a family, jobs, and doing something for myself that I love. This is the place where I can dump my random thoughts, vent my frustrations, and celebrate my successes.

I love reading blogs as much as I like writing posts. I have learned so much from the community of fellow bloggers. I am inspired daily and get tons of laughs. It is fun to be able to share these experiences "friends". Someone sent me a piece of flair on Facebook that says..."I love my computer because my friends live in it". So. True.

I truly love all the comments. They keep me motivated! Speaking of.....I have some reading to catch up on (451 unread posts????). How long was I out?

From what I can tell the most popular and beloved running blogs are indeed those that mishmash random thoughts, the personal as well as the running. This is definitely true of yours, and I love reading about your crazy life! :)

Oohhh Carly I love it when you talk about the kiddos and all the random nonsense that goes on in your life. 99% of the time it's the same shiz that I'd do HAHAHAHA

Great post and so true! I also enjoy reading about your crazy life. Although, with everything you have to juggle, it makes me think I should be able to handle more! lol

I was a total blog-stalker before I started. Just today, I finished writing an essay about triathlon blogging and what the blogging community means to me (and eachother for that matter). We'd all be lost without it!

451 unread, LOL. Yes, we started blogging about running but just as when we run, we talk about everything.

Ugh, don't you hate when you can't keep up with posts?? It actually stresses me out if I don't have a chance to check over lunch at work. it was so hard keeping up while we moved. I'm hoping things settle down, I need more time for my bloggies!

Oh lord girl...only 451 unread? hahahaha

I love your blog because of all your random mind-dumps...although I don't find them random at all, just hysterically funny! I think you were one of the first where I ventured to leave a comment on a blog that belonged to someone I didn't know...mostly because I thought I knew you soooooo well :-)

Everything in your life influences your running, so I figure everything from our lives belongs on our blogs.

I love blogs like yours because I feel like I am not alone trying to balance it all (often unsuccessfully in my case).

I started mine so that I could go back and see where I came from as I moved along, and relive the struggles and the triumphs as I started running again. It is such a bonus that some people actually read it and care even a little bit. Helps this single mom feel more connected.

I also love reading your blog! I know I will always exit your blog with a smile -whether it's a funny picture, or a funny work story or kid craziness....we love it all!

Great post!

I started blogging the day I found out about it. I have 6 business blogs and then my personal diet blog that doesn't link to any of the business blogs. I love writing the blogs, but also love the comments (which I don't seem to get many of!!!). Vee at www.veegettinghealthy.blogspot.com

Hi! I came across your blog and I love it... I love reading blogs, especially fitness blogs, because they're so encouraging... and real... fitness books don't tell all about how crazy your life will get when you add in a fitness routine :)
