My
I spent some time over the weekend thinking about my 2012 goals
Running. My goal is to be able to consecutive miles and not die doing it. I have a few goal races that I want to complete but nothing is definite. I am doing the Carly 5K plan. I run as far as I can and then I try to beat the distance the next time I run. It seems to work for me.
Weight Loss. Of course this has to be on the list and there is an extra motivator this year...my 10 year (cough cough 20 year) high school reunion. I have to get into those white Levis!
Blogging. I am going to shoot to blog 4 time a week. I miss writing because it is a great outlet for all the crazy stuff in my head. I am also going to take some time to start reading blogs again. I miss
Cooking. I am going to plan to cook 3 nights a week (most weeks). While I admit I am getting better at meal planning, this is still an area where I need a lot of improvement. Our crazy schedule often sends us scrambling for dinners. That usually means we are hitting up a drive thru, ordering a pizza, or whipping together PB&Js. I want and need to do better. Three times a week is a very reasonable. Non-cooking days we will have left overs or we will have something easy to assemble.
Lunch(ing). Piggy backing on cooking, I am going to bring my lunch at least 4 days a week. Going out to lunch is breaking the bank and making my ass spread. The extra calories from restaurant food is not conducive to a job where you sit on your butt all day long.
Reading. I am going to read at least 8 books. I have a stack of books covered in dust that I need to finish. I am a very slow reader but I think I can manage 8 this year.
Working. I will find a new job this year. One that will be a good fit for me and one that will give me the opportunity to grow.
There you have it, my list of things that are going to make me a better person in 2012.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Oooo, I think I need to add meal planning / cooking to my list too. I suck at that...
Looking forward to seeing you in 2012 :)
I love how well rounded your goals are! 2012 will be great!
Great goals, happy new year!!
Great goals hon, I look forward to reading about your progress!
I've been doing more meal planning the last couple of months, and it really does help. A little better quality, plus a lot less 1-2 item trips to the grocery store.
Happy new year!
lol, i was right there with you - we were in bed at 10:30 on NY eve as well! great goals for 2012!
I'm a HUGE fan of Rachel Ray stops (sorta stew-like soups), and Knorr pata sauce envelopes. They save my weeknight cooking all the time.
Happy New Year girl! Here's to a great 2012!
Great goals!
Do you have a crockpot? Great way to toss together soups and casseroles (or even big hunks of meat) and have dinner ready when you get home. I try for one crockpot meal each week plus a couple of easy meals + one meal out of the freezer (from a previous week) + leftovers. Very seldom do we have unplanned meals out.
I was in bed at 7:30 on New Year's Eve....blame that on having to work the entire weekend and having to get up at 3:30 sucks no matter what day it is!
Congrats on surviving 2011 and here's to a wonderful 2012!
Happy new year Carly!
great goals for the new year and maybe I'll steal a couple of them.
Happy New Year...can hardly wait to read how the Carly running plan goes.
Our NYEs sounded very similar. I, too, was grateful the next day. I recently blogged about my goals for 2012, too and I'm glad to see we share several! Support is always good!
Sounds like good goals!
Dear Friend,
If your goal is to lose fat as fast as humanly possible, it should be no surprise that you absolutely MUST learn to maximize the amount of time your body is actually burning fat. After all, if your body is actively burning fat for 10 hours each day, you'd get much faster results than if it were only burning fat for five.
But what if you could literally burn fat twenty four hours a day…every day?
Do you realize how much faster you'd progress? How much more quickly the fat would melt away? How much more rapidly you'd have the body you want?
