Weekend (Errrr...3 Week) Wrap-Up

I am not sure how to sum up the last three weeks.  Busy.  Crazy.  Exhausting.  Stressful.  I could go on but I really didn't have much to blog about.  Actually I did have stuff to write about like the sub 11 minute 3 miler I did (huge deal for me!!), the crop dusting yogi, and other boring details of my life.
I guess I can catch up on those subjects at another time.  I thought I had better get my rear in gear and post  because  this weekend my father asked me again why there hasn't been a new post since the end of March.  I always know when the blog is neglected when my dad notices.

I am not sure why I thought the 14 miler I had on the schedule would be successful when I haven't run for  over a week and the only thing I could stand eating is Clubhouse Crackers and ginger ale.  I have been stricken with some sort of weird stomach bug that has been lingering for over a week.  It is weird because it hasn't knocked me on my ass but it has sent massive waves of nausea and cause me to sweat like I am in the midst of menopause.  No, I am not pregnant even though the symptoms are really scaring me.  I kind of calmed down when I found out that several of my friends are dealing with the same issues.

I felt great for about .5 miles and then I felt my stomach turn and the sour acid snuck up into my throat.  I took that as my cue to walk as I didn't want to turn and barf on a busy road.  Long story short, this bug is making my running is suffer.  It killed my long run this weekend and cut my long run short last weekend (I did manage to squeak in 10).  I have eight weeks to make up for lost time and I am confident that all is not lost.

You wanna know what sucks?  I have GAINED 3lbs with this stomach crud.  I am chalking it up to increased carbs and sodium.  It sure doesn't seem fair, does it?

I am banking on the fact that I will be feeling better this week.  The schedule looks something like this:

Monday:  Shooting for 5 miles
Tuesday:  3 miles at the gym
Wednesday: 3-4 miles at the gym
Thursday:  7 miles
Friday:  3 mile run and Hot yoga
Saturday:  10K race
Sunday:  16 miler!!!!!

I had to use a flow chart to figure out how I am going to fit this training in with Chubby Hubby's softball, a couple of hockey games, a job interview (fingers crossed), and a few other events happening this week.

In other news, Diva had a big weekend.  It was her dance recital.  She performed both Friday and Saturday night and it was 2 hours of my life I will never get back.  She had a blast (after she got over the fact that she had to wear her costume) especially since she had a large fan club in the audience.
She looks so sweet and girly.....

But she isn't....she was making fart noises with her mouth.  Ahh the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
