Last Day of School

I think liquor store gift cards are the perfect way to say thank you to your child's favorite teacher.  This is just another way of how I keep it classy.....and the fact that these poor teachers need a stiff cocktail after having my boys in their classes!

End of the year teacher gifts are a newish concept for me....It was never done when I was growing up. It is now the norm.  Do you do teacher gifts for the end of the year?  If so, what kinds of stuff do you do for them?  Discuss.

gift cards. and I suck at it - I don't remember ever doing this as a kid either. kids show up with all this amazing crafty crap and I feel like it's parent shaming me :) so yeah - thank you note and a gift card and that is all I can manage...

As a teacher, I honestly appreciate a heartfelt CARD the most. A gift is just a bonus (and in my field, I hardly ever really get any of either!).
However, with my kids' teachers, I'm good for a homemade card and a gift card - depends on where- like Target, Starbucks, Caribou, etc,.

I have had a team for my youngest so for Christmas they actually got gc's this past year. For her last day I couldn't really afford anything so her teacher got flowers. But the oldest kids teacher I didn't get her anything :( I feel bad about that but $$

As a teacher the thing that I remember most is a note thanking me for the year..also you can never go wrong with a gift card..food, movie, amazon...whatever...

Can you move to my town and can I teach your kids? Truly, though, the best thing a teacher can get is a note thanking her (him) for specific things you liked and appreciated. A thank you from a child - priceless.

I give a card and a gift card to barnes and noble. That is what I loved most when I taught elementary school. It was great to see you today! Happy Summer!

we did a gift of Bath and Body Works hand soaps, I buy them cheap and use them for gifts. I know that it isn't as great of a gift as others can afford to give, but it is what I can do. I grew up giving flowers to my teachers for their garden. But where I grew up, everyone had a house. We don't have a house, or a yard, so I don't carry on this tradition.

A little appreciation is what is needed. It is just nice to know that you have been thought of. That alone is special enough. Anything else is a bonus.

Anything is better then nothing lol. Seriously though the thought is what is important and any teacher will know that.
